You know that exhilarating, almost childlike excitement you feel when you listen to some great new music for the first time? (We believe you understand this sensation, as it has likely brought you to this review.) With that connection established, we hope you'll indulge us as we take a more personal approach in discussing this record.

INFRA HANDS is an alternative, experimental, and multi-instrumental band featuring Dejan Stanisavljević (synths, programming), Zoran Kiza Radović (vocals, guitars), Sana Garić (synths, backing vocals), and Aleksandra Bengin (cello). The band's inception occurred one night at the beginning of 2026, when Dejan Stanisavljević (Beograd) and Zoran Kiza Radović (Pressing, Zenit Zed) decided to collaborate on a project inspired by Kiza's unique poetry. Soon after, by chance, Sana Garić (from Xanax) and Aleksandra Bengin (cello) joined them, resulting in the rapid creation of their debut album, which comprises 10 songs recorded in a home studio over just a few weeks. It’s remarkable how such vibrant and diverse material emerged in such a short span, with the musicians engaging in spontaneous jam sessions that captured their inspirations in real-time, without subsequent editing or fine-tuning. While it might seem polished at first listen, this album is far from overproduced, earning it even greater respect and admiration.

What stands out most is the incredible artistic courage these four musicians exhibited while exploring their inner selves and confronting what remained undiscovered within them. Like acrobats balancing on a trapeze over an abyss of fears, pain, anger, and delusion, they create an atmosphere where the listener feels the tension of a potential fall—yet they never do. This bravery is commendable, but the true essence lies in the transformation that occurs as they navigate this precarious journey: they conquer their own limitations. The thrill of victory and refreshing joy resonates from the first note to the last, without a single weak moment. Like a dream, this album takes you to the deepest and most intimate regions of introspection, making impossible moments seem natural.

In the early 80s, Dejan Stanisavljević boldly ventured into the uncharted territories of electronic music with the group Beograd. In the early 90s, Zoran Kiza Radović emerged as an alternative poet of his generation. In the 2000s, Sana Garić took a courageous step into electronic music as a female author-performer, while Aleksandra Bengin, the youngest among them, released her debut album last year. All of them—four generations of musicians—find their path in INFRA HANDS, and regardless of how long the band endures, the inspiration and bravery captured in this record will resonate for years to come.
